Misha panel - Misha says Cas’ home is heaven, but it doesn’t feel like home anymore. After the finale Misha says he thinks Cas is going to feel more alienated from heaven than ever. He thinks Cas will never feel at home anywhere now, that its an important part of his character that he doesn’t really belong anywhere anymore

Oh, ok. That makes sense. I definitely hope being a regular means he’s in more episodes, but I see your point about it not meaning anything but that he’s making more money (which: YAY).

Yes, I’m happy for him. He deserves a raise for the work he does on this show. I’m sure he’ll be in about 12 - 13 episodes, which is pretty normal for him.

I think the OP was assuming that this season finale will involve closing the gates of heaven, which sort of implies that Cas will fall, or else he’d be trapped in Heaven and therefore not able to be a series regular.

Well, you can be a series regular and appear in only two or three episodes in a season, it happens on some TV shows. I just don’t want people to be horribly disappointed when they find out Castiel might not be in most episodes.

But if he dies, won’t he just go back to heaven?

BUt would he be reinstated to angel status?

Misha Collins was a regular in series five and six when he was sometimes and angel and sometimes not an angel. Series regular is a pay grade, it is not an indication of how many episodes he will appear. Some seasons Misha Collins has been a series regular, he’s appeared in as many episodes as seasons where he’s not been a series regular.

Misha becoming a series regular simply means they have the money to pay him at a series regular pay rate. We can’t infer anything about the plot of series nine from a series regular status.

My husband randomly started singing a song he made up:

Misha, Misha,

Why is my honey obsessed with you?

Misha, Misha,

Last time we had sex,

I think she thought of you,

I know I did

I don’t know how to respond to that last line…

Sometimes I think misha Collins has a tumblr, and that is watching us.

Would this be possible? He is an actor, he can pretend very well.

He probably mocks everyone. He could have like a super unpopular blog that everyone hates, and he just laughs at your foolishness

I bet he spends half his time making terribly inflaming comments about how much Destiel sucks or that Sam’s character is entirely weak and makes the fandom scream and yell and he just leans back and laughs

DANCE, PUPPETS, DANCE

I feel like he’d be the type of person to have a good blog and a bad blog, follow the same blogs on both, and then compare and then lol at how the blogs he follows treats his good blog and bad blog differently.

This whole Westboro church vs. Misha thing keeps sound like a group of people complaining that Misha Collins was miscast in Supernatural.

Why is he Castiel? He’s the Anti-Christ. Dammit, Kripke and casting, you did it wrong.

That’s what keeps running through my head every time I see a post about it on Tumblr.

I should probably point out that I don’t think Misha Collins is the Anti-Christ and I think he plays a great Castiel, but you know how things go on Tumblr when it’s 23:58 and the text post button is saying, “Truth or Dare, bitch.”

Anonymous asked: If they are promoting Misha back to regular that means they have to pay him more money. So if they had no plans to make more use of Cas in season 9, they may as well keep him as a guest star. Logically what you say makes no sense from a financial point of view. Why reinstate him as a regular and have to pay him all that extra money if they are hardly going to show his character? See makes no sense does it. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Yes, I know he gets paid more. I have said that point on my blog a couple of times already, so I didn’t think I had to reiterate that point in my post. Apparently I did have to reiterate it.

I’m confused how what I said made no sense. I’ll break it down into bullets for easy understanding hopefully.

  • Misha Collins is re-instated as a series regular.
  • Some people on Tumblr misinterpret it as he’s going to be in more episodes than usual. Most of these posts don’t seem to know he’s been a regular before.
  • I make a post pointing out that he’s been a regular before. Being a regular vs. non-regular doesn’t affect the number of episodes he’s in. The story line affects the number of episodes he’s in.

He could end up being in only five episodes in season nine. He could be in thirteen episodes in season nine. Also, there are some series regulars on shows like CSI who do only show up for about 1/5 - 1/4 of the season despite being paid the extra money. The extra money helps retain the actor in some cases. In other cases, it’s a way of showing the actor that their hard work and dedication to the show is appreciated. It’s not an automatic he gets to be in all episodes. It’s also not an automatic he gets to be in half the episodes either. It’s just an automatic increase in his salary.

Hey, guys, Misha Collins was a series regular on Supernatural in seasons five and six. Series regular does not mean he’s going to be in every episode. It doesn’t even mean he’ll be on more frequently than he has been either.

If we break this down by season, Misha was in 13 episodes in season 4 (non-regular), 13 episodes in season 5 (regular), 12 episodes in season six (regular), 5 episodes season 7 (non-regular), and so far in season eight he’s been in 5 episodes with more appearances promised (non-regular).

Castiel comes around when the story line dictates he should come around. Season 7 he spent a lot of time away because of the story line for that season. He’s not a main character, even as a series regular.

If you think of it like Hawaii Five-0, Masi Oka, who plays Dr. Max Bergman, and Michelle Borth, who plays Lt. Catherine Rollins, are both series regulars. Their names and images are in the opening credits, but we don’t see them every episode.

I just wanted to put this out there because I’m seeing a lot of people getting excited like Misha might be in almost every episode and that’s probably not going to be the case.

I’m sorry to burst any bubbles.
