But what if the Silence didn’t want to stop the Doctor from going to Trenzalore because that was where the Great Intelligence infiltrated the Doctor’s timestream? What if the reason that Silence didn’t want the Doctor to go to Trenzalore was because that’s how the Valeyard was created?

I mean, what if the Master just assumed the Valeyard was an incarnation of the Doctor trying to cling to life like the Master was trying to cling to life?

If John Hurt is the Valeyard, perhaps he exists in the Doctor’s timestream because they’ve crossed paths in the Doctor’s past. Perhaps the 50th might begin at Trenzalore with Eleven and Hurt’s character and then spread to Ten’s portion of the time stream.

Moffat loves paradoxes. I mean I could see him pulling a since the Valeyard and the Doctor are the same creature and crossed paths in person before, then the Valeyard could exist in the Doctor’s time stream since it would be the same time stream and then the Doctor could loose the Valeyard on time and space. Or something.

I dunno. it’s just a cracky thought.

When I first saw Matt’s haircut, my first reaction was that the Doctor regenerates at the end of the 50th anniversary special and clearly the next companion is an average guy who looks sort of like the Eleventh Doctor so they can honor Matt’s contract but also do something so quintessentially Doctor Who in the 50th.

Then I remembered he’s currently filming How to Catch a Monster (2014). Mostly likely they’ll fit him with a wig like they did with Gillan when she decided she wanted a bit of fringe.

So in a comment on another post, I realized that (and I’m sure everyone knows this already) the Eighth Doctor’s movie aired seven years after the Seventh Doctor ended (1989 - 1996) and nine years before the Ninth Doctor aired for the first time (1996 - 2005).

Plot twist: The next companion is a normal girl/boy who only dies once in their lifetime and has no remarkable back story but he thinks they’re wonderful because they are human and the Doctor needs reminding that you don’t need to be a mystery to be remarkable.

#and the doctor never has to kiss them or sexualize them at all #in fact they are not even attracted to the doctor

classic who

the thing you’re talking about is called classic who

alright, maybe it’s just me, but…

rose. nothing mysterious about her, he took her up because she was a human.

martha, same. just a human who saved the doctor’s life with her very human skills.

donna- she wasn’t a mystery, wasn’t sexualized, was just a person he happened to run into!

idk, i don’t think that’s such a big plot  twist after all.

but maybe im missing something

If the post perameters were just normal people, then RTD era would be included. When someone suggested a lack of sexualization and kissy face, then Classic Who becomes more apt.

It also depends on where you put Eight. He did kiss his companion, but in a way, he’s kind of a Middle Who than a New Who or Classic Who, because he came seven years after the Seventh Doctor and nine years before the Ninth Doctor.

“I was probably the first Doctor to watch the show growing up.”

It’s a good thing you’re cute, Mr. Davison.

I keep hearing this quote on the commercial for BBCA’s Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited and I keep thinking, ‘But you were the first Doctor who was born after the 1930’s.’

What can I say though? Five was my Doctor from the time I was three or four to the time I was twenty-six, so….I am very excited even if it’s “Earthshock” and spoiler spoiler spoilers D8 SPOILERS.

SPOILERS are so creepy.

crYING

(via padfootstolemycrumpet)

So I figured out why “Introducing John Hurt as the Doctor” was written out on our TV screens

The text on the screen was really bothering me because Doctor Who has never done something like that before, so after about almost 48 hours to process it in the back of my mind, I think I figured it out.

So we know “Silence will fall when the question is asked” and we know that the question will happen with the fall of the Eleventh at Trenzalore. So, Eleven fell into his time stream and I think the question is supposed to go something like this:

Text on the TV/computer screen: Introducing John Hurt as the Doctor
Whovian: Doctor…Who?
Whovian: ………………

And thus, the question was asked, the silence fell, and they just forgot to tell us that from the deep night would come a cry of, “MOFFAT!” far and wide.

The joke “Seven Eight Nine” becomes paradoxically terrifying if you are a Whovian.

OH MY GOD! THE DOCTOR QUOTED ALICE IN WONDERLAND

this is the guy who quoted the lion king while confronting the sycorax and says he’s a space gandalf

He also used Harry Potter to fight off witches from space.

I really want him to say ‘companions. Assemble!’ one day

This is the Doctor’s second time quoting Lewis Carroll. The Fifth Doctor also quoted from the Alice stories too.
