Just got a lot of asks encouraging me to watch Sherlock (2010)
Guys, I’ve been watching Sherlock since 2010. I am part of our fandom. I’ve even written four or five proper fics for this fandom and a handful of flash fics for this fandom. That’s why I’m so appalled by the actions of some in it. I wrote what I wrote about the Elementary fandom eventually turning around and treating the Sherlock fandom the same way some in the fandom treat the Elementary fandom because frankly I think they deserve it. However, I think both shows have a place on my TV because they cannot be the same program since Sherlock follows a format of three 90-minute episodes per series and Elementary follows a format of 20 - 25 45-minute episodes per season. The format alone will keep them from being the same because the American format is going to force Elementary to let canon guide them into original story lines potentially or they’d run out of material quickly since most successful American TV shows run about five years.
So please stop urging me to watch Sherlock. I already do. I’m not going to abandon it because something else equally sparkly with good actors came along.
